Westfort College of Nursing

Our Philosophy

The Faculty Members of the College of  Nursing  believe that excellence in professional nursing education is achieved through a curriculum ,which unifies the essential phenomena of interest in nursing : the concept of nursing, health, person and environment.

The Faculty Members accept that professional nursing education at its best is an interactive process by which students and Teachers teach and learn from each other in an academic climate of mutual respect and care.

They recognize that both the process and content of the educational programme are critically important for students to acquire knowledge, skills, values and competencies necessary for quality nursing practice.

The Faculty Members believe that accepting responsibilities for nurturing learners focusing on developing with the competencies of care giver, critical thinker, communicator, diagnostician, leader, manager, Teacher and researcher are essential for   perpetual personal growth and development of Faculties and students.

There was an acute shortage of qualified Nursing Faculty in undergraduate and post graduate Nursing Education Programme in the Country, especially in Kerala. Hence it is believed that the post graduate Nursing Programme is destined to extend the nursing competence of the graduate level with further emphasis on application of relevant theories to nursing practice, education, administration and development of research skills.
