Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing

Aim of Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme :   

  • To prepare graduate nurses to function in different settings including Hospitals, Community nursing services, at various levels such as professional competent bedside nurses and midwives, nurse supervisor, nurse educators and nurse manager to provide promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.
  • To prepare  graduate nurses to conduct and support research activities in the area of nursing practice and thereby to uplift consistently the standard of the profession

Duration of the course   : Two Years

Sanctioned Strength       : 30 


Eligibility for admission: 

Candidates opting Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Programmes shall be required to have  the  following:

  • Pass in HSE/PDC/VHSE of Govt. of Kerala or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects.
  • Possesses a Diploma in GNM of 3 to 3 ½ years duration approved by the INC and State Nursing Council with minimum 55% marks
  • Registration with the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council

Should appear in the entrance examination for admission to PBB.Sc. Nursing course conducted by Lal Bahadur Sasthri Centre for Science & Technology (LBS) under Govt. Of Kerala
