ISTE Chapter

Indian Society for Technical Education is a strategic partner of AICTE having thousands of members and students chapter all over India. The aim of the society is to promote the technical skills of the students and faculty members. IMT-Thrisssur is a member of ISTE chapter since 15-7-2010.Under the ISTE chapter regular activities like National Seminar, Faculty Development and Improvement Programmes are conducted.


Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies and Research.

The aim of the centre is to inculcate the entrepreneurial thirst in the mind of the management and IT students. Regular face to face interactions with the entrepreneurs helps to understand the various practical aspects of the business.

For acquainting the various business opportunities for the new comers in this field, regular seminars of MSME (Micro ,Small and Medium enterprise )experts are conducted. It helps to build confidence and energy among the student community.

For analyzing the financial and entrepreneurial viability of the business initiatives and projects undertaken by various entrepreneurs, regular surveys are conducted by our students among the entrepreneurs and financial institutions with the assistance of KITCO(Kerala industrial and Technical Consultancy Organization).These surveys help them to analyze the business opportunities, the practical difficulties- both financial and non financial, faced by the entrepreneurs while implementing the business ideas.


Centre for Management in Local Government

The objective of the centre is to familiarize the students on various aspects of local governance which is an untouched paradigm by the management schools and to undertake various projects in connection with local bodies.

Regular workshops are conducted to understand the problems and possibilities of local governance, which brings together faculty members, students ,Gramapanchayat members and officials.

As a part of the social responsibility towards the society, financial literacy programmes for the “Kudumbasree” entrepreneurs organized by the cell helps them to understand how to manage the funds efficiently and the importance of keeping proper records for every transactions.

 

Management Meet

The Department of Management Studies organize South Indian management Meet PADMAVYUH every year to enhance the professionalism of IMT. Three hundred and fifty students from more than thirty five colleges regularly participate the meet through events like

IT Fest

The Department of Computer Application has conducted IT fest every year to boost the initiating skills and organizing capability of the IT students. IT fest named ‘NCODE’ conducted this year in the month of march with a participation of two hundred students from twenty colleges. The events are organized in such a way that it includes paper presentations, LAN games like FIFA-2011,NFS- Most wanted, Web designing, Coding and colorful event Dance Competition ‘Nrityathi’.


Women Development Cell

To cater to their all round development and well being of lady students, a Women’s Cell is at work which urges to think that each woman is an important part of the society as well as the world. To empower and equip them with confidence and strength of character, various plans and programmes are chalked out and effectively implemented. 

 

Arts club

The College provides ample opportunities to develop talents of students as well as faculty members in different forms of arts. Every year DHWANI –Arts is celebrated with great enthusiasm, in which both the faculty members and the students get an opportunity to express their inborn talents and skills.

 

 Sports club

The college offers sports and games facilities to every student who desires to develop his or her potential abilities and qualities for sportsmanship, team spirit and physique.  Every year sports day is celebrated by conducting both in-doors and out-doors games.

Nature club

The Nature club conducts a number of programmes to promote love of nature among the students and make them conscious of the various ways in which they can work effectively to preserve the eco- system. Every year the Environment day is celebrated by planting the trees in campus by the students and faculty members.

HEALTH CLUB

Only with the co-existence of mind and body, students can achieve their full potentiality. Under the Health club, classes on Yoga conducted every Wednesday. Blood donation camps are organized and free medical check ups are offered for the students from the Westfort Group of Hospitals .
