The programme is approved by Indian Nursing Council, Kerala Nurses and Midwives’ Council and is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) from 2010-2011 admissions onwards. This institution follows the regulations of the affiliating University in determining the eligibility of candidates to undergo the course and conduct of curriculum, examination and award of Degree.
PHILOSOPHY
The Westfort College of Nursing believe that there is a need to prepare nurses to function in super specialty areas who are required in tertiary care institutions and Community health care settings. We accept the fact that Postgraduate programme in Nursing is essential to improve quality of nursing education and nursing practice in the State in particular and in the country at large. This programme will prepare nurses to hold leadership positions in nursing services, administration, education and research. Further this programme encourages accountability and commitment which fosters improvement of quality care.
AIMS
The aim of Postgraduate programme in Nursing is to prepare graduate nurses to function efficiently as responsible nurse specialists, consultants, educators, administrators and researchers in various health care setting .They are enabled to function in an innovative mode and seek opportunities that can bring in positive changes in their professional practice and thereby effect a healthy society.
